Live Happier Longer Podcast

In celebration of Women’s Month, Molly and Angela from Live Happier Longer invited me to share my story on their podcast.

Here is what they had to say:

We got to dive into the why behind her blog, what has happened in her life since starting it and where she is headed in the future.

Here are some of her own words:

“I definitely look ahead and say I can do whatever I want.”
“I want to age and continue to grow all the way until the end.”
“You can’t just think about it. You have to take action.”

What inspires me the most about Loretta is she is DOING it! She’s writing, she’s hiking, she’s traveling and now she’s even learning to play the piano
We know you’ll love listening to her inspiring story just as much as we enjoyed talking with her.

I hope you enjoy our chat as much as I did!

Discovery and other scary stuff

As a blogger I, spend a fair amount of time looking at other women’s blog posts. And since there are about 200 million blogs out there, it can be a daunting task finding the ones that are of interest to me.

Most of the blogs I find are about fashion or lifestyle and it’s easy to scroll through the big photos showing us the latest style. I’ve also found blogs that are pretty confusing and busy and I get lost quickly.

And then there are the ones that I love/hate. I love them because they are so well written and draw me in, and I hate them because they are so well written and draw me in.   😉

My first reaction is how much I love the post and then the second is, ‘I’m not this good’. Which then brings up the whole, ‘what the hell am I doing’ and ‘who the hell said I could write’ thing?

But the bigger issue is I have to catch myself from copying them. Not in a plagiarism sort of way, but more of a ‘what she said’ sort of way. These women have great ideas! And, man I wish I would’ve thought of that!

This morning I discovered a blog and I like it so much I want to share it with you. Jessica is an amazing writer/poet who is funny and witty and entertaining.

If you get a chance, take a look around her site, Vinegar and Vanilla; I think you’ll enjoy it.

And I’ll try to remember that I’m good with the way I write or that I didn’t think of it first. I’ll bet I’m not the only one who has moments of self-doubt and have learned that the trick is to keep moving forward.

So today I am going to enjoy someone else’s work, share it, and then keep moving forward on mine.
