The Big Event – FierceCon 2018

The big event is this weekend, and I am busy putting all of the pieces together.

Weekend – Wedding Planning!

I’ve said before that my favorite job is Event Planning, and my favorite event is a wedding celebration!

I am in San Francisco meeting with the bride and groom to go over details. And what better place to do that than Mama’s in North Beach. It was worth getting in line early to be the first in the door.

What’s the best job you’ve ever had?

This weekend I shared that I worked the Military Ball event, here in Santa Barbara. I also shared that of all the things I’ve done, being an event planner and working events is my favorite job.

I’m not sure exactly why, but I like to try different careers. I’ve been a farm worker, waitress, secretary, telemarketer, daycare provider, phlebotomist, OR unit secretary, farmer, contractor, saddle maker, sales associate, spa manager, realtor,  personal assistant, executive assistant, caretaker, event planner, vacation rental manager,  estate manager, and blogger. Weekend Event – Military Ball

If I had to pick a favorite job, it would be event planning. I have helped plan weddings, birthdays, homecomings, street parties, black tie events, celebrity events, and intimate dinners. When I was running the show, there was so much pressure as well as immense reward.

After a year of working strictly for billionaires last year, I needed a break. But this summer I was fortunate enough to run into one of the top event planners in Santa Barbara. I told her if she ever needed help to give me a call. And she did.

It’s been fun to work in events again, and to let someone else take the lead. Last night was the 2017 Military Ball and I had the honor of working it.  Continue reading
