Have you ever had a professional do your make-up?

Have you ever been on the cover of a magazine?

I have not….but I’m about to be. Health Monitor magazine read my post on exercised-induced asthma, and wanted to interview me for a story. I agreed and the editor emailed me a few questions.

The next thing I knew I was not only being interviewed for a story in their magazine, but they said they would love to feature me on the cover. All of this was happening as I was dealing with wild-fires, traveling to the East Coast, snow storms, and helping family move.

Bring in the professionals…

I had a few hours yesterday to squeeze in a photo shoot for them, and it was a lot of fun! My make-up and hair artist, Jennifer Le, gave true meaning to the word “artist”.

It's fun to have a professional do the job

After professional make-up and hair

I don’t have any of the professional photos Lauren Rogers took, but I managed to get in a few selfies.  Posing just the right way for the camera isn’t as easy as it sounds. Chin out and forward and then down, turn your head this way, soft hands, smile but not too big, open eyes wide, and so much more.

But, it was a lot of fun and I felt like a princess for a few hours. It will be interesting to see which photos the magazine will choose and how the article reads. I’ll be sure to share it with you here.

It may not be the cover of The Rolling Stone, but I will be able to say I was on the cover of Health Monitor Magazine!

Have you ever experienced a professional photo shoot?
