A few good things

After almost two years of working from home, I finally carved out a little creative space for myself. John and I live in a fairly small one bedroom, and the kitchen table can easily turn into a messy “desk”.

So I end up sitting in a chair in the living room, typing with my laptop on my lap. Which is terrible for my posture.

A friend of mine suggested I purchase a laptop stand called “Roost”. It’s adjustable and keeps your head up.

Works well with a bluetooth keyboard. And check out that magazine on my desk…I’m featured in it!

Once I had my office space in order, I started on the kitchen. Mainly because everything I removed from my living room was now in my kitchen.

Cleaning up can create another mess

After going through piles of papers and event books and putting away crayons and markers that were found under furniture, it was time to tackle my kitchen.

My big motivation? On Monday I ordered an Instant Pot.

I love the look of my old stove next to a new pressure cooker
Nothing better than a clean kitchen!

The last gadget I purchased for myself was a phone adapter that fits on my tripod. This $5.00 purchase is so cool, not sure why I hadn’t thought of it earlier.

By the way, that brass lamp has a silk shade, marble base and I found it in a thrift store for $6.00!

So last night I made the video here using my new tripod, then cooked Zuppa Tuscana in my new Instant Pot. And this morning I’m at my desk (with my head up) working on my blog.

A few good things that make me happy.

Good for you! Getting organized, eating well and sitting up straight! Yay!! I love your home – it’s got such a sweet cottage feel – the kitchen is adorable! Your new nook is perfect for you to work from home – right by the windows! My sister has been singing the praises of insta pot too! I may have to have one! We make soup a lot during the winter. I have that gadget on my tripod – that’s how I take my pics! Thanks for sharing – you encourage me to share more. 😉

Thanks Cindy…I do love my stove in my kitchen, the tall ceilings and open feel of my house too.

And, yes, you would love an InstaPot. Makes excellent soup!

First of all, I love your stove! I am so glad you carved out a space for yourself. As soon as my oldest son moves out, I am confiscating his bedroom for my office. Need to purchase a few gadgets for myself too!

Your thoughts? I would love to hear from you...
